Bernard PLANCHAIS, former Managing Director of NAVAL GROUP, appointed Director of NEXEYA.
NEXEYA is pleased to announce that Bernard PLANCHAIS is joining its new board of directors following a management takeover of the company in July.
Bernard PLANCHAIS is a graduate of France’s École Polytechnique engineering school, and has spent most of his career at DCNS, which has rebranded as NAVAL GROUP.
He began his career as a Metallurgical Analysis Manager in the field of nuclear boilers, before going on to manage major projects (propulsion of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, La Fayette stealth frigates)
In 1996, he was appointed Director of Finance and Administration, before becoming Director of Strategy in 2000.
From 2001 to 2003, he was Managing Director of DCN Development and led the “DCN 2003” project, which resulted in the transformation of DCN – part of the French Ministry of Defence – into a state-owned private company.
From 2003 to 2005, he was Director of DCN Services Toulon, where he oversaw the restructuring of the company, and put in place maintenance contracts with the French Navy to increase fleet availability by more than 15 points in just three years.
In 2006, he became Director of the “Convergence” project to consolidate DCN and Thales activities and, in 2007, he was appointed Managing Director of the new DCNS Group, a position he held until the end of 2014.
His vast professional experience and involvement in projects to transform companies based on trust and innovation will undoubtedly be a great asset to NEXEYA, which is entering a new phase of its development following a management takeover of the company.
