Twenty years after the creation of NEXEYA, its board has endorsed two key strategic repositioning decisions: To transfer the group’s space activities in a new company called HEMERIA in order to focus its development efforts on the strong growth opportunities offered by this market; To accept the proposed acquisition of non-space activities by the European group HENSOLDT.

These operations are subject to various authorizations, to the ongoing information-consultation procedure of the IORPs, and should be completed by the beginning of the third quarter of 2019.

HENSOLDT, the leading independent sensor solutions house hasagreed to acquire the major part of the activities of Nexeya, Chatenay/France, a provider of services and electronics solutions for defence and commercial customers. The closing is expected after obtaining all necessary approvals in the third quarter of 2019.

HENSOLDT will acquire Nexeya’s test and integration and services business as well as major parts of its mission management and power conversion businesses. The acquired activities represent a turnover of around €95 million and a workforce of approximately 620 employees.

“NEXEYA strengthens our industrial base particularly in France, improving customer access and enhancing our product portfolio”, said Thomas Müller, CEO of HENSOLDT.

NEXEYA will supply the nanosatellites of the KINÉIS constellation developed by CLS.

With THALES ALENIA SPACE and SYRLINK, NEXEYA will supply the 20 nanosatellites of the KINÉIS constellation dedicated to the Internet of Things, which will be in orbit by 2021.

This constellation developed by CLS with CNES is explained in the evolution of the ARGOS location and data collection system.

More efficient, easier and affordable, the unique and universal connectivity offered by KINÉIS will soon be widely available to the general public (outdoor leisure activities, boating, etc.) and the private sector (logistics, fishing, agriculture, etc.). KINÉIS plans to connect several million objects around the globe.

NEXEYA co-invests € 7.5 million with DEFINVEST – funds of the Ministry of the Armed Forces managed by BPI FRANCE and the DGA [part of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces], and BREIZH UP – regional Breton fund managed by SOFIMAC INNOVATION, to support the UNSEENLABS start-up which plans to deploy a constellation of nano-satellites carrying a revolutionary antenna that will allow the identification and location of non-cooperative vessels.

NEXEYA, as a specialist in nano-satellites and maritime surveillance, provides technical expertise to UNSEENLABS and will facilitate market access.

During the Toulouse Space Show, NEXEYA and Skobeltsyn Institute of Moscow Lomonosov State University (SINP MSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate a cooperation in the field of nanosatellites.

The purpose of the agreement is to use the small satellite platforms designed by NEXEYA to host scientific instruments made by SINP or by another Russian university wishing to carry out some experiments in space. Currently several missions requiring such platforms are under study within the Institute.

For two days, NEXEYA received agents from around the world.

The first day was dedicated to the visit of CNES in Toulouse, and to the visit of NEXEYA’s premises in Toulouse to discover all of our know-how.

For the second day of seminar with our agents: introduction by Philippe GAUTIER, CEO of NEXEYA and presentation by Hervé JOVER, International Sales Director of NEXEYA.

The EUROSATORY exhibition, dedicated to the terrestrial defence, took place from 11th to 15th of June. The 2018 edition gathered together 1750 exhibitors at the Villepinte exhibition park. More than 60,000 visitors, 170 foreign delegations.

NEXEYA put forward its knowhow on hardened equipment, data fusion, maintenance and energy conversion. Particular emphasis has been placed on test centres comprising the activities of Telemetry, mobile Flight Termination System (FTS) turrets, as well as mobile energy storage stations based on fuel cell technology.

NEXEYA enjoyed welcoming many customers and sales leads to its
stand. Several foreign delegations planned their visit to the NEXEYA stand and in particular the Ivory Coast delegation with its Minister of Defence, who paid a lot of attention to the presentation of our solutions.

Danam Systems Inc., client, and KARI, end customer, were in our premises for the acceptance of two new Magali telemetry stations. The means will be installed on KSLV-II whose first qualification shot is scheduled for next October.

It was also an opportunity to present to KARI our know-how in the field of space: harness, structure, nanosat. Particularly impressed by our achievements on Ariane 5, illustrated by a tour of our facilities and the discovery of the Cité de l’Espace.

During 4 days 60 french aerospace companies made a tour in India, meeting the highest indian authorities for an Indo French seminar, running more than 400 business meetings and visiting a large number of Indian companies around the country. This tour shows the strong partnerships which exists between the two countries and the willingness of both sides to foster those partnerships.

Philippe GAUTIER, CEO of NEXEYA, was part of the delegation and visited such prestigious companies as Bharat Electronics, ISRO, Centum, Ananth..leveraging the long relationships that NEXEYA have with indian industry.

NEXEYA annonce la signature, mercredi 7 mars 2018, d’un contrat de partenariat entre NEXEYA/TECHSAT, et QAG, filiale d’AVIC – géant de l’industrie aéronautique chinoise.

La cérémonie de signature a eu lieu à Munich en Allemagne en présence de la Direction d’AVIC, de QAC, de TECHSAT et de NEXEYA.

Les parties conviennent de coopérer dans le cadre de projets de recherche et développement dans les domaines suivants: développement de systèmes embarqués; technologie de simulation, intégration et test pour le développement, la production et la maintenance de systèmes critiques.

Les deux groupes vont également coopérer dans le développement des affaires pour maximiser l’accès aux marchés de l’aéronautique dans le monde entier, en particulier en Chine où les programmes aéronautiques progressent très rapidement.

Ce partenariat à long terme est une nouvelle étape dans la coopération entre nos sociétés qui travaillent ensemble depuis de nombreuses années maintenant.

France and Singapore Year of Innovation 2018

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), NEXEYA Frances SAS (NEXEYA), and Censin Technology Pte Ltd (Censin) have joint forces to develop and market small nano-satellites for the region.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the three parties was signed during the Singapore Airshow. This is in conjunction with the France-Singapore Year of Innovation 2018. The partnership aims to introduce new concepts in the nano satellite segments with specific payload on board satellites less than 100 kg.

NTU Singapore, with its extensive research effort and achievement in satellites shall be embarking on a series of satellite technologies. There is a vast amount of NTU research that can be applied to the space borne application.

NTU has developed a multi-rotor based synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The lightweight flight system transmit radio frequency signal, which will be reflected from the ground. This information can be processed to form the ground image. This multirotor drone, which has high vibration during flight, is still capable of forming high quality images of 25cm×25cm resolution. From the image, small objects such as small boat, motorcycle and people can be detected.

The key objective is to build a small and reliable system, which is cost effective to have the earth observation capability throughout the day and night. This radar technology shall enable the view of the ground surface even at low lights or cloudy sky conditions. There will be further application usage when analysing and reprocessing the SAR images.

Un développement conduit en un temps record pour le premier nano-satellite industriel français

Le CNES et NEXEYA, qui ont co-investi et développent ensemble ANGELS (Argos Neo on a Generic Economical and Light Satellite), le premier nano-satellite industriel français, ont franchi avec succès la Revue de Définition Préliminaire du système et du satellite, signant la fin des études préliminaires, seulement sept mois après le lancement du projet, un véritable record et confirmant la disponibilité d’ANGELS dès fin 2019.

Ce projet, lancé en mai 2017, a pour objectif de développer et commercialiser une gamme de satellites de moins de 50 kg particulièrement adaptés aux missions à visées opérationnelles de type radiofréquences comme la collecte de données (ARGOS, AIS, M2M) ou la surveillance de spectre. Le CNES joue la carte de l’innovation disruptive, tant au niveau technique qu’au niveau de la gouvernance. Il apporte son expertise au consortium industriel avec une équipe d’ingénieurs possédant une solide expérience du spatial, intégrés en plateau projet chez NEXEYA. Il fédère ainsi les meilleurs acteurs du secteur dans le cadre d’une coopération innovante et équilibrée en mettant à disposition ses compétences et son expertise au service d’industriels entrepreneurs. En parallèle, la miniaturisation de la charge utile ARGOS-neo par Syrlinks et TAS progresse dans le même esprit d’innovation sur tous les domaines de ce développement.

Toutes les énergies sont focalisées pour tenir le calendrier extrêmement ambitieux et être au rendez-vous du lancement fin 2019. En ce sens, les premiers modèles d’ingénierie des cartes électroniques sont déjà disponibles et la revue de conception détaillée sera tenue début 2018. Largement collaboratif pour NEXEYA, le projet ANGELS réunit de nombreux partenaires industriels tels que CS, Erems, Mecano-ID, SAFT, Spacebell et Steel. Il fédère aussi de multiples talents et relève de multiples défis tels que la tenue des équipements aux radiations, la maitrise des émissions électromagnétiques perturbatrices ou encore le calendrier de développement particulièrement court. Cette étape clef désormais franchie avec succès, la commercialisation de la gamme Smallsat va commencer ce qui permettra à l’industrie spatiale française de prendre toute sa place au sein du NewSpace.

NEXEYA a le plaisir d’annoncer que Bernard PLANCHAIS rejoint son Conseil d’administration nouvellement formé après la reprise du contrôle de l’entreprise par le management en juillet dernier.

Diplômé de l’école polytechnique, Bernard PLANCHAIS a réalisé l’essentiel de sa carrière chez DCNS, devenu NAVAL GROUP. Il a débuté sa carrière en tant que Responsable d’études de métallurgie dans le domaine des chaufferies nucléaires avant diriger de grands projets (propulsion du porte-avions Charles de Gaulle, frégates furtives type La Fayette).

En 1996, il est nommé Directeur Finances Gestion et Directeur de la stratégie en 2000.

De 2001 à 2003, il est Directeur Général de DCN Développement et conduit le projet ” DCN 2003 ” qui aboutira à la transformation de DCN – administration du ministère de la Défense – en une société de droit privé détenue par l’Etat.

De 2003 à 2005, il est Directeur de DCN Services Toulon, dont il pilote la réorganisation et où il met en place avec la Marine nationale des contrats de maintenance permettant d’augmenter le taux de disponibilité de la flotte de plus de 15 points en trois ans.

En 2006, il devient Directeur du projet « Convergence » sur le rapprochement de DCN et de Thales puis est nommé en 2007 Directeur Général Délégué du nouveau groupe DCNS, fonction qu’il assumera jusqu’à fin 2014.

Sa grande expérience professionnelle et son engagement dans les projets de transformation des entreprises par la confiance et l’innovation seront assurément un atout pour NEXEYA, qui conduit une nouvelle étape de son développement, après la reprise de contrôle de la société par son management.
